Manager Tony Pulis told BBC Radio Stoke: "He's a bit sore and we'll take a view on him on Friday, but I'm not sure he'll be fit for Saturday."
The Potters will also assess injuries to Ricardo Fuller and Ryan Shawcross ahead of their penultimate home game of the Premier League campaign.
Both missed the game at Molineux on Sunday, while James Beattie is also close to a return to the first-team squad after missing almost two months with a knee problem.
Pulis watched Bolton lose 1-0 to Premier League leaders Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday and believes they represent a stern test for his team.
"They did very well, but I think they'll come to our place thinking they've got a better chance of making it an open game and having a go at us," said Pulis.
"They work very hard, they're a physical side, but they've got good quality in there as well. I thought Jack Wilshere was very good."
