Thomas Sorensen spot in the World Cup is in doubt after he had to go off injured with a dislocated elbow at Stamford Bridge.
The Potters stopper was injured by a two footed lunge from Soloman Kalou, made when the Ivory Coast intrenational scored the Blues second gola during their 7-0 romp yesterday.
The keeper required oxygen on the pitch before being replaced by debutant Asmir Begovic and going to hospital. It was initially thought that Sorensen had broken his elbow but scans revealed no break, just a dislocation, and after further examinations they were able to pop the joint back in without the need for surgery.
Had the former Aston Villa star had to go under the knife he would most certainly have missed this summers World Cup, but the fact he avoided the surgeons room leaves him with hope he can get fit for Denmark's summer bid, although his Potters season is over.
Third choice keeper Steve Simonsen returned from his loan at Sheffield United this week and he, alongside Bosnian Begovic, will complete goalkeeping duties for the remainder of this season.
