The 23-year-old full-back/centre-half has been injured for most of the summer and won't feature for at least a couple of weeks, but should add some long-term stability to the defence along with recent signing Abdoulaye Faye.
The signing brings Stoke's pre-season tally to six newcomers, but the club is not going to stop there in its recruitment drive. The Potters are known to be looking to use the domestic loan market to bring in two new faces, and there are also moves to bring in other players from abroad.
One such player is Haminu Dramani, a Ghanaian midfielder/winger, who currently plays at Lokomotiv Moscow. The 22-year-old is highly rated and is believed to have been at Stoke yesterday, although it is not known if the club are looking at a permanent deal or a loan signing.
