An initial bid of £1.7M for the Hungrian keeper was rejected by Roy Keane, however they will return with an offer of around £2M. The way appears clear for the signing to go through after PSV Eindhoven, who were also interested in Fulop, appear to be signing Isaakson from Man City instead.
Fulop is keen on a move to play first team football, and hence keep his place in the Hungarian national side. He did sign on loan for Stoke last season, but failed to make an appearance as he was quickly recalled to the North East as cover.
