Well what a diffrence the week has made. Not so long ago all us Stoke fans were wondering what was going to happen as we kept losing, heading for relegation was a fleeting worry and yet now here we are back in the top half of the table.
The result at Ipswich was one of the best of the season, yes the late flurry of goals were down to Ipswich losing the plot a bit, but the goals had to be scored. Sammy is back in the goals and what a goal it was! The best I would say of his 9.
I have thought that the midfield needs to contribute more goals so it was good to see Daryl Russell and luke Chadwick score. Daryls performance earned him a place in the championship team of the week. Hopefully these two will do the biz next season. They have been together now for some months and should have been doing better.
The news that all may be settled in the management team does appear to have coincided with the improvement in form. It is sad when these things happen and Jan de Koning's statement only adds to the bitterness when he believes it was not his fault.
Still in spite of this, it has not been confirmed that Boskamp has signed a new contract and the takeover situation is ongoing, it is not certain who will be in charge either in the boardroom or with the team. Let's hope it is resolved properly for all our sakes.
