National media sources are reporting the Potters will close the deals for Sunderland's Danny Collins and Uruguayan wonderkid Javier Arismendi.
Collins, Sunderlands player of the year last season, had started every Black Cats game up until yesterday when he was left on the bench after having talks with Stoke at the end of the week. A fee of £4m has already been agreed and the deal is expected to be completed after being delayed due to the Potters clash with Sunderland yesterday. The centre back can also competently play left back so will provide competition for Higginbotham as well Huth, Faye and Shawcross
Arismendi, 21, is a player who has been courted by some of Europe's top clubs and is a player who's arrival should give manager Tony Pulis a defensive midfielder of the calibre he has always been after. The twice capped Uruguayan has commented that he wants to go to a club that he will play every week and also told some of Europe's giants that he wants to play in England. A £5m fee has already been agreed, as has wages, and the Potters are now just awaiting international clearance before the deal is put through.
Their arrivals, along with last weeks signings of Tuncay and Robert Huth would mean the Potters have spent £20m in four days and the spending is not expected to be finished there with more targets being looked at before Tuesdays 5pm deadline.
