Uncertainty on field and off

Johan Boskamp seems to be on his way out of Stoke City. He has indicated that he will be gone by the end of the week. This is as a result of the board being unwilling to offer the two year deal that the manager asked for.

The uncertainty as to the ownership of the club as well as Boskamp's position has it appears affected the performance of the team with three straight defeats. It cannot be just coincidence that when the positions of De Koning and Rudge was sorted as Boskamp seemed to be in charge that the team performed well. Now with the issues raised all over again the team plays poorly again.

It is sad when 'grown men' cannot resolve differences both in the board room and in the team. Ego's can take over and positions become entrenched. This is a sport not a business. Yes it has to be run as a business, but surely passion has to be there too, a passion for the team to do well not for monetary reasons but for the feel good factor that comes with a successful team.

Of encouragement is the peformances of the younger players. It has been refreshing to see their passion and drive. Let us hope it is on the field with Stoke City that they become stars and are not too driven out by the behind the scenes activity.
