We can win Carling cup - Walters

New-boy Jonathan Walters believes Stoke have a strong enough squad to win the Carling Cup. The former Ipswich forward, who was one of several new arrivals at the Britannia Stadium over the summer, scored his first goal for the Potters in the competition's second round against Shrewsbury last month. He may be forced to miss out on Tuesday's third-round clash with Barclays Premier League rivals Fulham due to an ankle complaint, but he believes his side have a strong enough squad to go far in the competition. "When you look at our squad, we have a realistic chance of going all the way," Walters told the club's official website. "The cup competitions are fantastic for the players because they give you an opportunity to do something special and possibly go on to win some silverware. "You obviously need the luck of the draw, but we do have the quality here to cause any team problems, and when the game is a one-off, anything can happen. "We would love to go to Wembley, play in a final and win major honours, which is what you want as a professional footballer."
