Stoke City defender Andy Wilkinson says he was proud to help his hometown club reach the FA Cup final for the first time in their 148-year history.The 26-year-old came through the youth system at the Britannia Stadium and started the 5-0 semi-final win against Bolton at Wembley on Sunday.
"It feels like a dream, it doesn't feel real," he told BBC Radio Stoke.
"It's always been a dream to play for Stoke, never mind to play at Wembley in an FA Cup final. It's amazing."
The Potters will face Manchester City in the final at Wembley on Saturday, 14 May.
Goals from Matthew Etherington, Robert Huth, Kenwyne Jones and a brace from Jonathan Walters completed a magical afternoon for the 34,000 Potters supporters inside the ground and thousands more in Stoke-on-Trent.
"As soon as the bus turned into the stadium today and we saw all the fans cheering us, I was getting shivers," added Wilkinson, who is from nearby Stone and grew up as a Stoke fan. "It made it like a home fixture for us.
"We played like Barcelona, our two centre-halves [Huth and captain Ryan Shawcross] stopped Kevin Davies playing and the rest is history.
"If we play like that in the final, we've got every chance.
"We all think we can win, we love people to write us off. We're the underdogs and we love that."
Manager Tony Pulis was also delighted to lead Stoke to a Wembley final, but urged the players to concentrate on ensuring Premier League survival in the coming weeks.
He told BBC Radio Stoke: "We've got a massive game on Saturday at Aston Villa.
"The players have got a couple of days off so that they can enjoy themselves and bring themselves back down to earth.
"We've got to make sure that we're ready to go again. It's a big week, we've got to get as many points as we can to enable our security in the Premier League."
Stoke are 13th in the table, five points above the relegation zone with six matches left to play, although they have a game in hand on Aston Villa, west Brom and all of the bottom six apart from Wolves.
