Etherington limped off late in the Boxing Day win at Blackburn with an apparent ankle knock and his replacement at Ewood Park, Greg Whelan, stands by to step in.
Pulis does not expect any further injury problems and his biggest concern is whether to bring back fit-again goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen in place of Asmir Begovic.
