Goals from top scorer Louis Moult and Matthew Cohen saw the Potters take all three points from their clash with Midlands rivals West Bromwich Albion.
The hosts took the lead early on when Woods netted the opening goal. Woods has played, and scored, for the Baggies first team already this season and took his goal well.
That spurred the Potters on though and they hit back when a deep Zak Foster cross was headed down by Ryan Connor. Moult pounced on the knockdown and smashed the ball into the net, for his sixth academy goal, and eighth in total, this season, to level the scores.
City weren't finished their though and the quest for a winner saw due reward when they were awarded a penalty. Centre back Matt Cohen stepped up and rolled the ball into the net, sending the keeper the wrong way, to put the Potters into a lead they would keep for the remainder of the game.
The U18's next fixture is next Saturdays home game against rivals Manchester United.
