Joe Kinnear is set to feel the wrath of the Football Association after being banished to the stands after yet another clash with match officials.
The Newcastle United manager was sent from the dugout late in the game after furiously protesting about the free-kick from which Stoke City scrambled their late equaliser.
He already has to answer a charge of improper conduct later this month after calling Martin Atkinson "a Mickey Mouse referee" during the 2-1 defeat at Fulham last month.
But instead of referee bashing, Kinnear should instead point the finger at his own side after another woeful defensive showing that cost points.
He should be more concerned about inept Newcastle's defensive comedy of errors that saw his side throw away two much-needed points.
And they have now been hit by the old-boy sucker punch in each of their last two home games.
Last time, Titus Bramble grabbed a late equaliser for Wigan, while this time it was another central defender, Abdoulaye Faye, who salvaged a point for Stoke.
Kinnear was forced to make one change when a hamstring injury ruled out Nicky Butt and Geremi was recalled into midfield.
And Newcastle started of brightly with Charles N'Zogbia lashing a 30 yarder wide and Thomas Sorensen saving from Michael Owen.
And that early resolve was capitalised upon with a goal in the ninth minute from Owen.
Jonas Gutierrez cut in from the right and played a delightful through ball to Owen, who got goalside of Abdoulaye Faye in the inside right position and shot across Sorensen.
It got better even for Newcastle when they doubled their tally after 24 minutes with Owen putting away his second of the game.
And the United skipper knew he owed a great debt to Obafemi Martins, who collected a magnificent Geremi cross-field pass to beat Andy Griffin and drill the ball to the back post where Owen gratefully slid it into the net.
Steven Taylor was called straight into action after replacing Danny Guthrie at the break with a superb challenge to deny Richard Cresswell a certain goal.
Stoke took off long throw expert Rory Delap after 57 minutes and sent on Ricardo Fuller, who made an immediate impact by setting up Mamady Sidibe to reduce the arrears on the hour with the simplest of tap-ins.
Newcastle looked as if they would hang on for the win when Abdoulaye Faye hooked a late chance wide, but the big defender had the last laugh when he bundled the ball over the line seconds later.
