Asmir Begovic - 8(Man of the Match) - Pulled off some great saves during the game and then in injury time rescued Stoke on FOUR occasions. Easy to see why Chelsea and co are after him
Marc Wilson - 7 - Another competent and solid performance at right back. Did play hoof after hoof but they were decent balls and he never lost a tackle all night
Danny Pugh - 6 - Didn't dawdle in possession, getting the ball forward quickly, but was caught for pace on a few occasions. Solid enough game
Robert Huth - 6 - Good in the air and looked solid enough until Vela came on and caused both centre halves numerous problems
Ryan Shawcross - 6 - See Huth
Jermaine Pennant - 7 - Unlucky with two fantastic free kicks in the first half and was a menace in the first 45. Picked up a knock and forced off during second period
Jon Walters - 6 - Never really got going but was full of running and effort from the first whistle to the last. One shot from distance whistled just over.
Rory Delap - 7 - Neat header opened the scoring. Didn't have as busy a game as normal, and throw ins weren't really a threat
Dean Whitehead - 6 - Started well but faded and good recent form deserted him as the game wore on
Kenwyne Jones - 7 - Best performance since New Years Day as he got stuck in, chased and pressured well and looked more and more confident as the game wore on. Maybe the penny has dropped that he needs to push himself back into form
John Carew - 5 - Not his night as he was marked out of the game aerially and rarely got given service to feet. Subbed off early in second half
Matthew Etherington - 6 - Obviously injured and as such was never able to get in the game. Also spent most of his time on the pitch on the right wing, where he is far less effective
Ricardo Fuller - 5 - Poor performance from Fuller, no where near himself and nothing is falling for him at the minute, could do with a start or two
Glenn Whelan - 6 - Came on and kept the ball but failed to do anything constructive with it, just water carrying in the midfield.
