Player Ratings: Stoke 1-2 Bolton

Last updated : 21 April 2010 By Dan Buxton

Thomas Sorensen - 6 - Had nothing to do for the first 45 but after pulling off a few impressive saves he was undone by a deflected free kick and a close range flick

Robert Huth - 7 - Was steady at right back, keeping it tight, and allowed himself to get forward when the Potters were on top

Danny Collins - 7 - Was on course for a higher mark until the winner when he allowed Weiss to get past him and put the ball in to the danger area. Up to then he was solid, dependable and showed a great array of passing

Abdoulaye Faye - 7 - Played well and was solid at the back but could do little about the Bolton late show that turned the game around. How he missed that late chance only he knows

Danny Higginbotham - 6 - Wasn't as involved as Faye but did his fair share of heading.

Liam Lawrence - 7 - Improved performance from the Irishman as he got involved, looked dangerous and got some decent balls into the box

Rory Delap - 6 - Had a quiet afternoon as he played on the left for the majority of the game. Nothing spectacular but nothing bad of note

Glenn Whelan - 7 - Knocked a few cracking passes through but was also anonymous for long periods

Dean Whitehead - 7 - One of his quieter games. Had a good first half, breaking up play and letting others the more noticeable work in the attacking parts of the pitch

David Kitson - 8 - Took his goal well, showed great movement when he broke free again but was harshly given offside. Held the ball up well and brought others into the game. Missed an open goal in the second half but couldn't have expected the great block by the defender

Tuncay - 8(Man of the Match) - Up there with his best games for Stoke. Gave his all throughout the game, spreading the play well. Played in his bets position just off the striker and gave some exquisite through balls to Kitson. Should have buried that chance second half though when he hit the post

Matthew Etherington - 7 - A few bursts of speed and raw pace brought about some late excitement. First touch wasn't great but he hasn't trained all week. Cross to Tuncay for his big miss was inch perfect and other balls in should have seen a goal

Ricardo Fuller - 7 - Had a few good runs and bits of skill but lack of luck saw him unable to make a real impact

James Beattie - 5 - Hardly got a kick after he came on. Couldn't get in the game
