Thomas Sorensen - 6 - Good initial save for the first goal, very unlucky with the ping pong that ensued and had no chance with the second. Showed positive attitude late on as he was always there to receive throw ins or take free kicks allowing the players to get forward
Robert Huth - 6 - Had a mare in the first half against the pace of Bale, leaving the left winger free for the second goal. Improved no end after the break and was also a threat at corners as everyone piled forward
Danny Collins - 6 - Looked more comfortable than last season but still backed off Lennon far too much for Spurs second, allowing the winger to get to the edge of the box before crossing for Bale
A.D. Faye - 7 - Had a good game as he was mainly given teh task of mopping up the scraps from the Crouch v Shawcross battle and track any runners. Never looked in trouble and set up equaliser
Ryan Shawcross - 7 - Matched Crouch stride for stride and the striker had to resort to diving around like a big girl conning free kicks out of the ref. Looked assured on the ball and was patient passing around waiting for a gap
Rory Delap - 4 - Was dire as he struggled to find a Stoke shirt, failed to close down and put a foot in and also looked generally unfit. With his age he has a lot to prove after two shocking games in a row. Has he gone past his sell by date?
Matthew Etherington - 7 - Carried the ball well but ran down too many blind alleys as he was left with too few options time and time again which made it easy for the defender to block off his options. Did look threatening though and put some good crosses in when given the chance
Glenn Whelan - 5 - The game bypassed him for the first forty five minutes and although he picked up the tempo after the break it was too little, too late as he was subbed before the hour
Dean Whitehead - 6 - Started quietly but played as important a role as anyone when Stoke started to dominate in the second half
Jon Walters - 9 - One of the best, and most promising, debuts I have ever seen from a Stoke player. Won everything in the air, showed great footwork, control, direction on his headers, fantastic workrate and a great right foot both up front and on the wing. Also scored, even though it wasn't given
Ricardo Fuller - 8 - Linked well with Walters, just as he did with Jones last week, as he showed pace, power and trickery as he remained dangerous throughout
Tuncay - 7 - Was a bundle of energy after coming on and forced a couple of great saves out of Gomes. Showed urgence and skill which combined to look threatening to the end. Should have scored the free header at the back post though
Michael Tonge - 5 - Didn't do anything but was only on for a few minutes
