Asmir Begovic - 7 - Made a couple of outstanding saves and was on hand to relieve pressure when needed. Not a chance with either goal
Robert Huth - 8(Man of the Match) - Scored one goal, could have had a hat full and was also sturdy and strong at right back.
Danny Collins - 7 - Was solid and dependable whilst unspectacular
Abdoulaye Faye - 7 - No nosense after recent blips when dallying on the ball. Good in the air and did well to cover Higginbotham who struggled
Danny Higginbotham - 5 - Looked rusty and could be blamed for both goals, as well as gifting the visitors more than one more chance to grab a third, including with less than a minute left
Jermaine Pennant - 8 - Tricky winger who will claim an assist for Fuller's goal, and it was his quick release that got the Jamaican going, whilst he also teased the defence with some great dribbling and accurate crossing
Matthew Etherington - 7 - Not his best showing but gave his all as he bombed around the pitch from the first whistle to the last, setting up the vital third with a low cross.
Rory Delap - 6 - Throw ins caused panic and he never stopped running but distribution was very ropey
Dean Whitehead - 8 - Freed from the shackles he was a typical box to box midfielder, and still had enough energy to get forward and poke in the winner with three minutes left
Kenwyne Jones - 7 - Got himself stuck in early on but got little change out of the defenders as the game wore on
Ricardo Fuller - 8 - Scored a fantastic solo goal to seemingly secure the points, and it was also his shot that was deflected to Huth for the opener. Although not always involved, clear hes not 100%, he was dangerous when involved
Glenn Whelan - 6 - Came on to help shore up the midfield but struggled to get in the game and was then cast out to the right so Whitehead could return to the centre
Marc Wilson - 6 - Came on to see out five minutes of stoppage time and helped the Potters keep out Brum for the final few minutes
