Thomas Sorensen - 7 - Made a couple of saves and distribution was good. DId get caught in two minds for the goal
Ryan Shotton - 8(Man of the Match) - Defender was strong, solid and showed great pace to counteract the passing game of the visitors
Robert Huth - 6 - Was torn apart by Quaresma early on but had a better second half, mainly due to Quaresma not fancying the fight once the Potters were on top
Ryan Shawcross - 8 - Was on top of his game as he surely enhanced his England chances with a great performance against a very tricky Turkish side
Matthew Upson - 8 - Another top notch display from the ex-England star as he was dominant in the air, composed on the air and knew exactly where to be at the right time
Rory Delap - 8 - Great energy and drive to pressure the ball when not in possession and also kept the ball well when he had it at his feet
Matthew Etherington - 6 - Started well but was reluctant to go forward and take on the full back. Subbed in second half after picking up an injury
Dean Whitehead - 7 - Showed the usual great engine to break up play in the middle and was able to give the ball to more accomplished players when in possession
Wilson Palacios - 7 - Battled away and showed some good distribution but was subbed in second half after failing to run off a knock
Cameron Jerome - 6 - Good pace to worry the away defence but doesn't look like he has yet settled into the Stoke system
Peter Crouch - 8 - Scored the vital equaliser and was a menace all night, Neat touches helped to build attacks and won everything in the air
Glenn Whelan - 8 - Steadied the tempo and added a ball playiung option in the midfield at a time when the Potters were on top. Snappy tackles helped win back the ball
Jon Walters - 8 - Great energy after coming on as he battered the defence from his introduction to the end of the game. Fantastic finish for the winner from the spot
Jermaine Pennant - 7 - Winger gave an option out on the right and good delivery in open play and from set pieces. Scared the visitors with his pace
