Hopes of survival took another step back as Burnley went home from the Britannia Stadium with a 1-0 win which was perhaps more than they deserved.
Burnley only had one real attack, from which they scored, and the potters just couldn't get the ball in the back of the net, despite a first half hammering of the Clarets.
The closest Stoke came was their disallowed goal from Chris Greenacre. Mill's apparently fouling the defender winning the header about 8 yards out, but Greenacre, who netted volleying the header was offside in any case.
Chances fell to Hoekstra, Gudjonson and James O'Connor but we never quite had the cutting edge to get the ball in the back of the net.
Like it or not, without bringing in some players and scrapping some points together Stoke are heading back to where they started. The only conciliation being that Brighton, Sheffield Wednesday and Grimsby all lost.
